We finally took a vacation! After months of rain and work and projects it was time to get out of town. To the ferry we fled, for a little cabin retreat on Whidbey Island, aka Land of No Leashes. Haunches ran freely with reckless abandon. We beach combed. We slept until noon. We made delicious meals. We chopped every hunk and piece of wood we could find. Then we sat by the fireplace to watch our hard work whittle and burn to a pile of ashes, while our recliners reluctantly took the shape of our tired, beached out frames. It was absolutely delightful. Not a cloud in the sky nor a wrinkle in my brow. And the best part? I got to take pictures just for the bare boned sake of takin’ pictures! What more can a girl ask for?
