This is Kelly, just before Opal came a knockin’.
I think they look perfectly at home together in nature.
Motherhood suits her beautifully, don’t you think?

If this photo doesn’t make you smile, your heart is made of aluminum.
This is Jackson. He’s too cute for his own good. More photos from our photo shoot soon to come!

She’s precious, beautiful and totally silly. Little Bridget made quite the protest against having her photo taken, but I was determined to capture the curious, gleeful girl trapped inside her fussy, weeping exterior; even if it meant that her mom and I would fill the house with high-pitched baby talk for two hours. And it looks like we pulled it off, because these photos are undeniably cute and slightly addictive.

There are few things in this world as joyful and hilarious as a boy on his very first birthday.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you…
Carter Madigan
He’s one! And in my opinion, the best thing since sliced bread.
No first birthday is complete without a three-legged race.
Sometimes baby love is expressed in the form of a cheek slobbering.
Carter has a way with the ladies.
And his way is to chase them down with a hug on deck.
And to shower them with gifts…
Then it was time for birthday cake…
One year old style…
Which sometimes requires a little hosing off.
Next up, A CLOWN! He had all sorts of tricks up his sleeve…
Oops! Looks like somebody might have a slight case of coulrophobia…
But then the clown made him a balloon hat, so now they’re cool.
Happy Birthday, Carter! I’ll chase balloons in the park with you anytime, buddy!

Lily is one of those babies you meet and instantly recognize as a little girl. Her eyelashes span for decades and I’m pretty sure she smells like peaches. She is the mirror image of her beautiful momma: sweet, silly and a tiny bit stubborn. I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing her mom, Amanda, before Lily was even born!
We had so much fun during Lily’s photo shoot last month. She was a fantastic model, giving me all kinds of expressions and eye contact. And she’s got quite the sense of humor too. She started losing interest in the whole camera business, so I made a bunch of ruckus at her, spilling coos and animals sounds to grab her attention. Normally, this is rather effective. But at a certain point (the point at which I’m referring to as “Crazy Hour” because clearly I’d lost my mind) I actually said “Say Cheese” to a 5 week old, to which her timely reply was a healthy milk spew all over my fabrics. Nice one, Lily. I totally deserved that.
But I still think you’re the prettiest baby girl in town.
She’s so cute it hurts…
Doesn’t she look like the Gerber Baby?
This was a fun shot to pull off! Thankfully Lily’s parents trust me and are always game for my shenanigans. In other words, they do whatever I say. Perfect clients!
I love the extended pinky here. Always a lady…
Hooray!
Lily with Mom.
Lily with Dad.
Lily with Grandma.
There’s those eye lashes I was talking about…
This must have been sometime around Crazy Hour…
Yep, Crazy Hour for sure.
This is one of my favorite shots from the day. It’s all about the cat in this one.
His jealousy was palpable.
I love her Bumblebee theme in the nursery.
‘Til next time, Lily!

I am so pleased to finally share some of my favorite images from my shoot with Oxani. I am absolutely crazy about this guy. He has such a beautiful name too, which in full is Oxani (Oshani) Caue (Ka-way) Dos Reis. He is every bit as handsome in person as he appears in these photos. Except now he’s about 4 times as big! This boy is growing like a weed, which makes these images even more special now than they were just a couple of weeks ago. If only babies could stay babies forever…

Remember this post? Beautiful baby Oxani (pronounced Oshani) was preparing for his debut in that gorgeous belly of hers. And I’m so excited to share his sweet face with the world. He loved the sound of my shutter, so we locked eyes over and over again. His big brown eyes and juicy little baby lips are enough to make you weak in the knees.
More photos from our session are coming soon, so stay tuned.
For now, here is a sneak peek.
