Boudoir photography is a ton of fun and makes for such an exciting pre or post wedding gift. Boudoir sessions can be added a la carte to any wedding photography service and are even included in some wedding packages I offer. And to any curious women out there, boudoir sessions are popular at any stage. You don’t have to be engaged to indulge in this intimate, rewarding type of photography.
I’m so excited to finally share some of my favorite images from a boudoir shoot last month. This particular bride-to-be made every moment of her photo shoot worth while! And here’s why: She had fun with it, she wasn’t afraid to be silly and she dared to be bold! I think her adventurous spirit really shows and her connection with the camera is undeniable.
We started off at the Presidential Suite of Hotel Deca, which boasts panoramic views of downtown Seattle. It was the perfect setting for a photo shoot, full of decadent detail and art deco inspired décor. Then, we headed off to Lake Union for some daring photos aboard their sail boat!

During our planning, we decided it would be fun to recreate a couple of classic Jennifer Aniston poses.
I think she pulled it off beautifully.

I love the light in this photo. Whenever possible, I prefer using 100% natural light. It’s not always an option, but it never fails to flatter.

This was all Mother Nature’s doing. She has such a sense of humor…

If you can believe it, this is 100% all natural light. We were blown away by the results we got, just utilizing the the hotel’s big windows.
Look at those blue eyes!

Then it was off to the marina!

This one was just for fun. Luckily she was game for all of my silly suggestions.

Thanks for such a wildly fantastic photo shoot! I can’t wait to photograph your wedding this summer!

While the leaves were still turning shades and gently falling from their branches, Carissa and I headed out one gorgeous fall evening for her senior portrait session. She’s actually already graduated from High School, but she and her mom felt it was important to capture her during this pivotal point in her life – and I couldn’t agree more.
We met at Game Farm Park in Auburn, a huge 53+ acre park nestled along the White River. We were fortunate enough to get the last of the golden evening light, which really worked with the rich fall colors surrounding us. As we raced against the setting sun, Carissa gave a glowing performance as a complete natural in front of the camera. I’m proud to share some of her beautiful images with you and I hope she is too.
I’ll call her…the autumn sweetheart.
And because he was such a willing and skilled lighting assistant, I even let her boyfriend sneak in for a couple of shots. Aren’t they a cute couple?

Two weeks ago I had a blast photographing a very sweet family of monkeys – I mean people – at a local park in Seattle. We frolicked, climbed trees and ate bananas, just like a bunch of monkeys. Alright fine, there weren’t any bananas, but we did spend an unusual amount of time scooting up the trunks of trees and dangling from branches. Zach and Nick are two amazing kids; sweet, polite and full of little boy zeal.
Thanks for a wonderful day in the park, guys. I hope you had as much fun as I did!
